What Does Warm and Cozy Mean to You?

What does warm and cozy mean to you?

With the extended cold snap here in Saskatoon, all I want to do is stay warm and cozy in bed after my alarm goes off in the morning! But alas, the kids have to go to school and I have to make their lunches and the kitties are usually meowing to be fed… so that’s just a pipe dream.

Earlier this week, I had the bright idea to get our whole family involved in my drawing challenge. This not only gets our kiddos off the screen – if even for just a short time – but also keeps me accountable to draw something everyday! Yesterday was my turn to pick the drawing prompt and I chose “something warm and cozy”.

My drawing is pictured above. I chose to draw two warm and cozy kitties.

Our kiddos’ drawings are pictured below. Blythe and Brighton had similar ideas but showed them in different ways. And Whitney’s is related to her siblings but obviously something else.

What I’ve learned over all my years is how different everyone’s interpretation of the same thing can be. While humans can be similar in a lot of ways, everyone has a unique way of thinking. And that’s what makes life interesting!

Even when we were given a simpler one word drawing prompt like “taco”, each of us came up with something different. It certainly gives some insight into my husband’s strange brain.

Day 2: Brighton's word "taco" and Matt's interpretation.

I’ll share more of our drawings later this month.

For the remainder of this day, I’m going to find ways to stay warm and cozy in our home! I can feel the start of a tickle in my throat, so I’ll likely be making this elixir. I’m also feeling the urge to change up my studio/office setup for maximum productivity and just for a general refresh, after seeing this video last night.

Hope it is warm and cozy wherever you are! If I’m not back here tomorrow, Happy Valentine’s Day!
