Cathy Peng artist illustrator designer

Hi, I’m Cathy.

Artist. Lifelong introvert. Professional Homebody.

– Maya Angelou

When I stumbled upon the quote above, it really resonated with me.

In a world that celebrates extroverts, fame and fortune, learning to love and embrace one’s interior life is something that is not readily sought after. If life is a journey, the journey of self-acceptance has lasted my whole life so far. I am nearly a half-centenarian but still sometimes feel like a ten year old girl trapped in a much older, creakier body.

When I was about ten or eleven, my mom told me to start keeping a diary – probably because I’d complained one too many times about being bored over the summer break. Also, so I would have memories to look back on. So I did. And ever since, I have kept some sort of diary or journal, whether physical or online.

Writing is very therapeutic (and also cheaper than therapy). It allows me time to reflect on events and feelings to better understand them. It is also another creative outlet. Needless to say, the events of my past few years led me down the path of blogging again.

I hope you’ll join me on my journey as I share about everything from home decorating, family life, recipes, design and more.

I am also a wife to a fellow introvert and creative, a mother to three introverts and one rather vocal feline, a daughter, a sister, a friend.
