We All Scream for Ice Cream

We all scream for Ice Cream... 9 licks ice cream in Saskatoon

The heat wave this past week in Saskatoon gave us the purrfect excuse to visit 9 Licks Ice Cream just down the street from us.

We’d driven past the sign with a kitty ice cream cone many times in the past month but hadn’t made an effort to visit until Wednesday. This is something I can check off my still-in-the works summer bucket list.

You know, for any cat and ice cream lover, this would be a sure draw. And I only “got” the name of the shop last night.

Matt knew what he wanted right away… Salted Chocolate Caramel in a waffle cone.

Whitney chose Strawberry Sensation, a lactose free ice cream, in a regular cone.

Blythe and Brighton went with their most popular flavour, Wet Paint, which is a combination of vanilla and bubblegum, in waffle cones. It looks pretty and was very messy like wet paint, but I’d rather not eat my bubblegum. Blythe wished she could have had my choice… a vanilla soft serve cone. No picture, as I was playing photographer and trying to not let the ice cream melt all over me.

Here, she tried to mimic the kitty’s face.

I had another post planned for today, but it’s been a super busy week driving here and there with camps, appointments, etc. so that post will be coming next week.  Blythe and Brighton have planned a backyard fair for tonight so this post will be short and sweet, like them! Well, not Blythe, as she’s in the 87th percentile for height apparently.

Bonita went to another home on Tuesday. Here she is on our bed before she left.

At least we got to savour a cold dessert and enjoy some down time! Hope you get to indulge in some ice cream this weekend!
