A fun fact about April for our family is that it is usually fueled by a whole lot of cake. This weekend, Blythe will be having her first birthday party with friends in a while. There will be mini golfing, macaroni, possibly pizza and of course, more cake. Our family tradition is to have cake on the person’s actual birthday and another on the day of the party, as they are often not on the same day.
I made a vanilla cake that she decorated for her actual birthday on Wednesday. Today I will be making a Hedwig one like the one found here for her party tomorrow. We’re keeping the rest of the party pretty simple since I also need to finish doing our taxes. Hope your weekend is fun filled!

We went back to Moxie’s for Blythe’s birthday dinner and while their burger is delicious, their ribs are apparently not as good as mine (according to the birthday girl). Here is the recipe for the bbq sauce that I use for my ribs.
Discovered that SkipTheDishes was founded in Saskatoon of all places in 2012. We have been customers since 2018.
Matt and I met 21 years and 3 days ago. We had our first date 21 years and one day ago. My life has never been the same since.
It is Matt’s dad’s 85th birthday today. Happy Birthday, Dave!
Finally had Matt help me put up these curtains in our dining room that had been sitting around for five months. A few days later I found the perfect matching sideboard on Facebook Marketplace… we just picked it up today! Check back for a future reveal.
We will be attending our first wedding in years next month… the perfect excuse for a new dress. I searched high and low and discovered this site which has some beautiful ones, even for the whole bridal party. I considered this and this but in the end, chose one that would likely make Miranda Priestly roll her eyes.
